ORANGE SHIRT DAY: If able, please wear an orange shirt on Monday.
- National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, September 30 (No School)
Orange Shirt Day, observed annually on September 30, is a Canadian observance and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation dedicated to honoring the victims, survivors, and families of Canada’s residential school system. It serves to raise awareness about the intergenerational impacts of these schools on Indigenous individuals, families, and communities. On this day, people wear orange shirts to commemorate the Indigenous children who were stripped of their belongings and forced to attend these institutions, a poignant symbol of loss and trauma.
FROM THE OFFICE
- We kindly ask that students do not come to the office during class hours to pick up FOOD DELIVERY orders. The food will be left to you to pick up when the bell rings.
- People who require an EpiPen due to severe allergies must always carry it with them. There are many students that have severe allergies that have not been carrying them.
- Our school is committed to providing a safe environment for all students. To support students with nut allergies, we are a NUT FREE SCHOOL. This helps prevent allergic reactions and keeps everyone safe. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
- Our school is dedicated to creating a comfortable environment for all students, staff and visitors. We remind you that those wearing STRONG SCENTS may be asked to go home or removed from certain areas. Scents should never be reapplied at school.
- SCHOOL PHOTOS proofs were distributed last week. The deadline is September 30, if you wish to order.
