Moncton High will be hosting its first ‘Moncton High School Future Pathways Expo‘ on November 5th for grades 10-12 only.   

  • Students will be able to interact with industry leaders, as well as academic training program to support their career life plan requirements from EECD.  
  • This is a full day event at the school for students with exhibitor booths, and breakout sessions during period 1-4.
    • Grade 9 students do not attend school on November 5th as they are either at a work placement, or at home online modules for Take Our Kids to Work Day. 

Students will be choosing 4 breakout sessions to attend during the event this week in homeroom.  Please look at the sessions that will be offered to support your selections on Tuesday.

Horizon School of Radiography Moncton 

  • The Horizon School of Radiography Moncton Campus is partnered with UNBSJ to deliver a 4-year BHS in Radiography.  Students in the program complete 2 years at UNBSJ then 2 years at The Horizon School of Radiography Moncton Campus. Graduates of the program become a radiological (x-ray) technologist.

New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (NBCCD) 

  • For our breakout session we will be doing a short presentation about the programs that we offer, and a Graphic Design “Mixed-Media Self Portrait” workshop. During this workshop students will be using magazine clippings, construction paper, and markers, students create an abstract self-portrait they can take home with them. Typography, the elements of style and design, and the world of visual communication and graphic design will be explored before students dive into their own project.  

NavCanada 

  • We can do a short presentation on the career options at NavCanada, both locally and Nationally 

Working NB 

  • Deciding what to do after graduation can be difficult. In the session you will learn about the services Working NB offers and how they may assist you in determining the next steps following graduation.   • Isabelle is a pilot employed at Air Canada. Maya is a student at MFC and associated with the Elevate Aviation group that promotes women in aviation.  Isabelle and Maya are excellent pilot role-models for kids. Isabelle would be in uniform and describe her journey to becoming a professional pilot with Air Canada. Maya will be able to talk about her experience as a student pilot at the Moncton Flight College (MFC) and both would of course answer any questions the kids may have. 

East Coast Trades College

Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists – Atlantic 

  • The Wonderful World of Medical Radiation Technology – a session guiding students to the amazing medical radiation technology profession! In this session, students will learn about the four pathways in the procession: Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine, MRI and Radiation Therapy. In this session there will be a description of the pathways, a demo on some of the images one will see and a fun interactive section where the student becomes the technologist and analyzes the images!
